We assess the costing of repair and compare these costs with the actual value prior to and after the event. Subsequently we advise the assured and/or our principal with respect to the procedure to be followed.
The assessment of the exact cause of the breakdown is equally important as well: an 'external cause', a 'hidden defect' or due to an inherent vice.
Does third parties need to be involved (for example the manufacturer) with respect to the winding-up of the claim? Can one recover the extent of the damage on third parties?
